In these uncertain times many things can happen that can have an effect on your
portfolio, we have set four main goals when managing your money:
Most anyone can make money in good
markets. However, it is our goal to keep you in the best and most
consistent funds, and the best and most consistent strategies, giving you the
potential for market beating returns.
No advisor (or investor) can prevent
all losses. However, the goal for any successful investment strategy should
be to limit or reduce your losses. While smaller losses can usually be made up
rather easily, it is far too difficult to make up for large losses. It only
takes an 11.11% gain to make up for a 10% loss, but it takes a 42.86 %
return to make up for a 30% loss, and it gets even worse from there. For this
reason we believe it is more important to avoid large losses than to pursue
large gains. We believe this strategy will produce the best and most consistent
returns over a period of years, and allow our clients to stick with their
investing strategies, which in turn increases the likelihood of investing
success. We believe if we manage risk first, the rewards will come.

Our third goal is to potentially profit in all types of economic environments over the long term. On occasions, we will take our lumps along with everyone else when the markets make their inevitable short term corrections. However, if a short term correction turns into a medium or long turn downtrend we have selected fund managers that have the ability to make adjustments to their portfolios and have the ability to reduce exposure to stocks and increase exposure to sectors outside the stock market enhancing the potential of positive returns during economic downturns.

Our final goal is to outperform the
general market indexes, not every year, but over an entire market cycle ... expansion and recession. When you combine our first three goals of making a good
profit in up markets, to limit losses and preserve capital in down market, and
to potentially profit from medium to long term downturns in the market, we
believe the true worth of our Portfolios will be realized by our
investors if their investment is held through an entire market cycle.
